- In six separate studies, the bactericidal and fungicidal action of dentipur® rapid cleansing tablets against Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans has been tested at two different temperatures (20º and 45ºC) after 0, 10 and 30 mins.
- Already at the beginning of the effervescence of the tablets
(t = 0) in almost all cases there occurred a reduction of the germs by 90%.
- Within 20 minutes all germs of Streptococcus mutans had been killed at both temperatures.
- In addition Candida albicans could not be detected after ten minutes at 45ºC. At 20ºC the number of germs was only detectable in half of the cases. In three further cases the number was reduced from several million germs per ml to slightly above the limit of detection (200, 300 and 4,300 germs/ml. resp.).
- In all cases after 30 mins no germs could be detected (limit of detection = 100 germs/ml).
